Hines is a town/city in Harney County, Oregon, United States.

A improve titled Herrick was formed just southwest of Burns when barns promoter and sawmill operator Fred Herrick established a lumber business there. Edward Hines bought the barns and lumber business from Herrick in 1928, and a postal service titled Hines was established in 1931 to serve the Edward Hines Lumber Company foundry and encircling community. The foundry has since changed hands at least two more times. According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 2.13 square miles (5.52 km2), of which, 2.08 square miles (5.39 km2) is territory and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km2) is water. As of the census of 2010, there were 1,563 citizens , 678 homeholds, and 423 families residing in the city.
